Welcome to the stories about my family and its genealogy. This is an ongoing project, as almost all genealogical projects are.
I’ve been doing this research since 1996 and have had the help of many people who have given me leads and suggestions as well as entire documentation of their own research. We’re all in this together, and I’d like to share some of my research that might help someone else.

Oh, and the title of the site? Little Sputnik is the nickname that a friend of my aunt (Elnora Hanes) gave me. I was launched around the same time as the Sputnik satellite was, but it got more publicity.
