Little Sputnik's Geneaolgy

Putting the pieces together

First post - where I am now in my research

Well, as of today, I….

  • Created this website
  • Uploaded all the information I have so far on the Helen Conic/Comick/Connick conundrum
  • Entered this blog entry

Yay!
Now, what needs to be done?

Only my maternal grandfather's side:
  • Find out who his mother's father was (Campbel?)
  • Find out if there are any other Coleman cousins that I don't know of yet
On my maternal grandmother's side (Castleberry):
  • Write out her history and the story of a little sister she never knew existed
  • Go back and write up the Eison relations
On my father's side… just start. A Haynes cousin gave me LOTS of material to sift through. But there are a few intriguing questions I have to begin with:
  • Who was Matthew Jackson Hanes and was he really from Louisiana?
  • Why was his son, Charles Mathew Hanes, called "the little Jew"?
  • Why did a cousin say that her mother indicated where his relatives (parents?) were buried in the Jewish cemetery in New Orleans?
Oh, so many brick walls. So much fun ahead!
I need to write up Sparkie's story, too. She made it to 100, so there'll be a lot to write. Fortunately, I interviewed my mother several times, so I just need time.
I'll get there.
